Born to Shine

Jazz, R&B

Inspiration

I wrote Born to Shine because I live by the credo that everyone has a genius inside of them. I wanted the song to have that spiritual feel, because I believe whether you are a Christ-follower or not, God exists within us all. I wanted to create a tune that would be an anthem for anybody struggling to find himself, and this song would serve as a reminder to just keep searching within.

Verse 1
The day you were born, the stars lit the sky,
A spark of magic in your first soft cry.
The world was waiting, though you didn’t see,
A gift inside you, meant to set you free.

Chorus
Born to shine, born to live your soul’s design,
Find the gift where heaven’s stars align.
When you uncover what you’re born to do,
You touch the sky, and the world shines too.

Bridge
It’s not a stage, it’s not a crown,
It’s God’s own love that you’ve found.
When you find your genius, you find the One,
The closest to heaven ‘neath the morning sun.
Chorus (repeat with big vocal swell)

Pre-Chorus

Through the doubts, through the fight,
Chasing dreams in the dead of night.
Hear it calling, bold and true,
A fire’s burning, made for you.

Verse 2
Look past the chaos, deep into your heart,
Where truth is glowing like a brand-new start.
No prize, no spotlight, no dream will define,
The light within you, always meant to climb.

Chorus (repeat with big vocal swell)
Outro
So turn within, let your spirit fly,
Your light’s the answer to the open sky.
We’re all born to shine, every dreamer, every son,
Find your spark, and let it run.
